Firefighters contain a nighttime house fire in Neuquén without injuries

Neuquén, Thursday. Firefighters extinguished a fire that destroyed the ground floor of a house in the La Sirena neighborhood early Wednesday morning. The family escaped without physical injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Three hours of work

The incident was reported at 12:45 a.m. at 850 Pasaje Petróleo, near the Ciudad Deportiva. The flames remained confined to a small ground-floor area, which was completely destroyed. The operation continued until 4:30 a.m.

Crews prevented the fire from spreading to the upper floor and neighboring homes. The upper level sustained no significant structural damage, although smoke was present throughout the property. A police guard was left at the site.

SIEN staff provided medical assistance to the couple and their young daughter at the location. No one suffered physical injuries and the family was reported to be out of danger. The mother experienced an anxiety crisis and received emotional support from emergency personnel.

Neighbors acted immediately

Before firefighters arrived, neighbors used a hose to suppress the flames, removed gas cylinders from the house and activated the neighborhood alarm. Their actions helped prevent a possible explosion and limit the spread of the fire.

Investigators are examining a possible connection to a candle that had not been properly extinguished or an aromatherapy diffuser. This possibility has not yet been confirmed. Firefighters also attended a second call on Chocón street, where a small fire affected a living-room armchair and was extinguished without injuries.
